CAN BIPARTISANSHIP REBUILD OUR CRUMBLING INFRASTRUCTURE?
Beyond fixing roads and bridges, the infrastructure proposal now in the Senate could restore bipartisanship, make the rich pay their fair share, and restore faith that government can work for all.

CALL TO PROTECT OUR FUTURE
Congress must protect our freedom to vote and deliver on the American Jobs and Families Plan. The Senate must eliminate the filibuster and pass the For the People Act. There can be no Congressional holidays or recess until this important work is done.

FRIDAY RECAP: July 16th, 2021
History is made by those who show up. We will save democracy by persevering. When we get tired of repeating ourselves is about the time others begin listening. It takes all of us calling multiple times, so continue showing up to save democracy--by making one more call this week.

GOP’S WAR ON DEMOCRACY MUST BE STOPPED
Passing pro-democracy legislation is necessary, but not sufficient, to protect the freedom to vote which underpins our democracy. We also need speedy Senate confirmation of Biden’s judicial nominees and federal court expansion at all levels to neutralize Jim Crow jurists imposed by Trump and McConnell. The Senate must remain in session until all judges are confirmed and S.1 is passed.

INFRASTRUCTURE COLLISION AHEAD
The $1 trillion bill to rejuvenate and modernize America’s crumbling infrastructure, and boosting the US economy, is days away from a vote in the Senate. Even with support from a small group of Republican Senators, the fight over paying for it looms ahead.

RECESS IS OVER - SAVE OUR RIGHT TO VOTE.
Congress must not waste time. There can be no more congressional holidays or recesses until the For the People Act and the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act are passed.

Call for fair elections and robust infrastructure
Saving democracy and socially just infrastructure are interdependent. Even as our MoCs turn towards infrastructure this week, we need to keep reminding them of the urgency of saving our freedom to vote.

Deadline for Democracy
The urgency of protecting our freedom to vote from the Jim Crow Faction cannot be overstated. We ask our Members of Congress to cancel recess and long weekends and to pass the For the People Act, the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act, the Washington DC Admissions Act, and the Judiciary Act of 2021 by simple majority.

THE MINORITY RULE INSURRECTION
New data confirm the GOP is a minority party. To maintain its hold on power the GOP is perverting truth and state election laws. S.1 must be amended to unwind new state laws that rig elections.

WE MUST COMMIT TO PROTECTING DEMOCRACY BY PRESERVING FREEDOM TO VOTE
Everyone deserves the freedom to vote and to have their votes counted, but Jim Crow Republicans at all levels of government and on the Supreme Court are committed to eliminating them for all but white Americans. Democrats cannot allow the Senate’s and the Supreme Court’s Jim Crow roadblocks to stop them from going big, bold, and fast to protect our democracy--passing comprehensive legislation preserving our freedom to vote and rebalancing the courts.

WE ARE THE ONES MAKING HISTORY
Help meet our #DeadlineForDemocracy. Call daily and push Democrats to go BIG, BOLD, FAST, ALONE.

WE MUST MEET OUR DEADLINE FOR DEMOCRACY
The Supreme Court continues to weaken voting rights. The Jim Crow faction uses obstruction to run out the clock to pass legislation. We must push Democrats to work on their own to pass legislation that will help us: abolish the filibuster, pass S1 and the Judiciary Act of 2021, and pass infrastructure by reconciliation.

GO BIG AND BOLD ON INFRASTRUCTURE
We must convince Congress to go big and bold to build back our economy and restructure it to benefit us all, whether a version of Biden’s American Jobs Plan (AJP) is enacted through regular order and his American Families Plan (AFP) through reconciliation, or whether they are consolidated and passed through reconciliation after McConnell sabotages the bipartisan compromise.

Show Up to Save Democracy
History is made by those who show up. We will save democracy by persevering. When we get tired of repeating ourselves is about the time others begin listening. It takes all of us calling multiple times, so practice self-care and continue showing up to save democracy.
