BACKGROUND

Right before Congress went on the July 4th recess, all 50 Democratic Senators stood up for our freedom to vote, agreeing to debate the For the People Act/S1. Continuing their pattern of obstruction, the GOP refused. They are scared to debate - because they know that the public wants what is in S1:

accessible voting options across the country
keeping billionaires from buying our elections
independent commissions drawing our voting districts.

While the Senate was in recess, the Supreme Court ignored the law and struck down more of the Voting Rights Act.

Between the Jim Crow GOP and a politicized Supreme Court, it is clear Democrats must be bold on their own to save our right to vote.

The Senate must abolish the filibuster and pass the For the People Act before redistricting deadlines pass.
The House must update the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act to withstand a Supreme Court challenge and pass it.

There can be no more Congressional holidays or recesses until this democracy saving work is done. Call Congress today.
