WE MUST MEET OUR DEADLINE FOR DEMOCRACY
Jump to today’s actions:
BACKGROUND
We deserve a government that cares for us. Democrats are working hard to deliver.
The Democratic-led House has passed critical bills such as the For the People Act, the Pro Act, the Dream Act, the Equality Act, and the Enhanced Background Checks Act.
Senate Democrats are pushing these bills in the Senate.
President Biden and Congressional Democrats are organizing to pass an infrastructure package that will invest in us, our country, and our climate - building upon the American Rescue Plan.
Standing in the way: the filibuster, the GOP, and a politicized Supreme Court.
Mitch McConnell and his Jim Crow faction have one goal – obstruct the Biden administration to build their power and protect the donors who pay for them. To succeed they must run out the clock.
The Supreme Court is politicized – dark money has succeeded in weaponizing the court against voting rights.
We must push Democrats to pass legislation that will help us. As soon as this recess is over they must:
Abolish the filibuster
Pass The For The People Act
Pass infrastructure by reconciliation
Call Congress and join us for next week’s #DeadlineForDemocracy to push Democrats to Go Big, Go Bold, Go Fast, and Go Alone.
