PRESERVING DEMOCRACY IS FOUNDATIONAL FOR US TO THRIVE
We deserve a government that works For the People and leaders who view their role as promoting the common good. Rescuing our democracy and helping us THRIVE is foundational. We ask Congress to protect our democracy before passing other progressive, anti-racist legislation, because democracy is the foundation of government that works For the People.

BE BOLD CONGRESS - HELP AMERICA THRIVE
We all deserve to THRIVE with racially just education, healthcare, jobs, infrastructure, voting, and climate. Time is of the essence and Congressional Democrats must return from the current Congressional recess, waste no time, and boldly pass the THRIVE agenda.

THRIVE AGENDA REQUIRES A JUDICIARY THAT REFLECTS AMERICA’S DIVERSITY
The THRIVE Agenda’s economic renewal plan can only succeed if supported by a strong progressive judiciary. To counteract the GOP’s packing of the federal courts with rightwing ideologues committed to furthering its racist, corporate-friendly agenda, Congress must quickly expand the number of judgeships to keep up with exploding caseloads, Biden must continue working to rebalancing the federal bench by gender, ethnicity, experience and ideology, and the Senate must expeditiously confirm his nominees.

WE CANNOT THRIVE DURING AN EPIDEMIC OF GUN VIOLENCE & POLICE BRUTALITY
We cannot THRIVE during an epidemic of gun violence and police brutality or when this violence is targeted at BIPOC communities and women. Legislation to protect the vulnerable has already been approved by the House and awaits Senate action. Together we can pass this critical legislation, stop the racist or misogynist violence, and THRIVE.

PRO Act and New Taxes Needed to Back Up THRIVE
The THRIVE Agenda will need new taxes and a revival of union organizing protections to succeed in the long run. Call and attend your Members’ virtual town halls to register your support for the THRIVE Resolution, new taxes — especially on the super-wealthy— and the PRO Act.

IN THIS TIME OF MULTIPLE CRISES, WE NEED A GOVERNMENT COMMITTED TO PROTECTING US ALL
Republicans have shown our government has been captured by the wealthy few to enrich the rich. Under Republican leadership, government was incapable of solving even one crisis. Now, cascading crises threaten everyone. To meet these challenges, we must restore a government committed to protecting us all.

CALL CONGRESS TO HELP AMERICA THRIVE
Everyone deserves to reach their full potential and THRIVE in America. President Biden, VP Harris, and Congressional Democrats have plans to help us THRIVE. Elected Republicans in Congress and statehouses are actively working to keep us from thriving. Take action to help America THRIVE with a recovery that is grounded in racial, economic, environmental, and gender justice.

TODAY’S VIOLENCE AGAINST ASIANS WAS IGNITED BY TRUMP. WE CAN END IT.
Vice President Kamala Harris said after the murders in Atlanta: “A harm against any one of us is a harm against all of us.” Hatred has become an effective tool for Republicans. But the violence hate breeds will destroy America. We can change this.

A SIMPLE MAJORITY TO PROTECT DEMOCRACY
We deserve the For the People Act to protect our democracy. The Senate is the only legislative body in the world that requires a supermajority to pass legislation. Although yesterday's rules committee hearing ended without a vote on rules for hearing S1, our Senators need our continuing support to keep working for this and other bills that help us.

CONGRESS CAN CONTINUE MOVING FORWARD ON IMMIGRATION REFORM
Congress can move forward on immigration reform. Swift Senate passage of American Dream and Promise Act and Farm Workforce Modernization Act is imperative, along with Citizenship for Essential Workers Act, to test whether bipartisanship is even an option. If not, the U.S. Citizenship Act, which is needed to reestablish America as a welcoming nation, will have to be included in the infrastructure bill or through filibuster reform. Failure to reform our immigration is not an option.

PROTECT OUR RIGHTS, NOT THE SENATE MINORITY'S
The rules governing S1's passage in the Senate will likely determine how other legislation that benefits us all is managed, as well as whether S1 becomes law. We stand with all those who want to protect us from the minority demand that a super, rather than a simple majority be required to pass any and all legislation in the Senate.

DC Statehood Is A Matter Of Racial Justice
Couched in typical code words and dog whistles, Republicans who oppose DC statehood are actually supporting a bulwark of racism and white supremacy. There are many reasons why DC statehood is the right thing to do. And ending the disenfranchisement of its citizens is an important step towards building a racially just society.

CONGRESS: KEEP WORKING TO IMPROVE OUR LIVES
The House continues to pass progressive legislation to improve our lives and extend our rights. The Senate must do likewise--quickly passing VAWA reauthorization, the Dream Act, and the Farm Workforce Modernization Act, and extending the deadline for ratifying the Equal Rights Amendment and for applying for the Paycheck Protection Program.

LGBTQ RIGHTS ARE HUMAN RIGHTS. PASS THE EQUALITY ACT.
We need federal protection for human rights. The Human Rights Campaign reported that half of U.S. states lack basic protections for LGBTQ people. LGBTQ rights are human rights, and it’s time for the Senate to acknowledge that by passing the Equality Act.

People to the Senate: Pass Anti-Racist Policing and Common Sense Gun Laws
The House just passed two important laws, one to curb police violence and one to curb gun violence. Despite broad popular support, they face an uphill climb in the Senate. Together, we can rally our Senators and thank our House Reps for their hard work.
