A SIMPLE MAJORITY TO PROTECT DEMOCRACY

We deserve the For the People Act to protect our democracy. The Senate is the only legislative body in the world that requires a supermajority to pass legislation. Although yesterday's rules committee hearing ended without a vote on rules for hearing S1, our Senators need our continuing support to keep working for this and other bills that help us.

CONGRESS CAN CONTINUE MOVING FORWARD ON IMMIGRATION REFORM

Congress can move forward on immigration reform. Swift Senate passage of American Dream and Promise Act and Farm Workforce Modernization Act is imperative, along with Citizenship for Essential Workers Act, to test whether bipartisanship is even an option. If not, the U.S. Citizenship Act, which is needed to reestablish America as a welcoming nation, will have to be included in the infrastructure bill or through filibuster reform. TO DISMANTLE WHITE SUPREMACY, WE MUST FIX THE FEDERAL JUDICIARY

To dismantle white supremacy, we must fix the federal judiciary. This requires both quickly filling the 90 open judgeships with attorneys who recognize and will work to protect the rights of everyday people over corporations and wealthy special interests and expanding the judiciary to combat the lengthy delays in receiving justice.

Democrats pass $1.9 Trillion to Rescue People, Fight Virus

Today House Democrats follow Senate Democrats in passing Biden’s COVID relief bill. In a bet on trickle-up economic theory, individuals will receive 2/3rds of the aid. The plan also includes aid for state, tribal and local governments; direct grants for truly small businesses including child care centers and restaurants; a robust vaccination campaign; and making schools safe.
