WE HAVE THE POWER TO STOP RACIST VOTER SUPPRESSION
Jump to today’s actions:
Background
We voted in record numbers to win, helping President Biden and the Democrat-led Congress pass COVID relief that provides survival checks, extends unemployment, cuts child poverty in half, and provides billions for vaccine distribution.
Republicans noticed and are racing to pass racist voter suppression laws – openly suppressing Black and Brown voters.
Republicans are aided by the Supreme Court. Dark money and Chief Justice Roberts uphold white supremacy, gutting voting rights with “John Roberts Laws”.
We have the power to stop them - passing the For the People Act and the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancements Act.
The House passed the For the People Act. Representatives Blumenauer, Bonamici, DeFazio, and Schrader strongly supported the bill. They can now push to immediately pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act.
Senators Merkley and Wyden are champions of these bills. We want them do all they can – including reforming the racist filibuster – to get these bills through the Senate. Luckily Senator Merkley is the Chief Antagonist of the Filibuster!
We willt keep calling to help Congress pass these bills. Join us in restoring democracy – show up to pass the For the People Act and the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancements Act.
