Background
Food. Housing. Wages. Voting. Vaccines. All are vital. All are bipartisan issues. To take action, helping America on these issues, is to help people of both political parties.
Yet elected Republicans vote and legislate against these necessities. They vote and legislate away from bipartisanship, harming Americans of both parties, while empowering themselves and enriching their donors.
Democrats have a choice – help the American people, making democracy a reality for all of us, or fall prey to the myth that Congressional Republicans are bipartisan, forfeiting our democracy .
The time to act is now. The House is passing powerful legislation that helps all of America. The Senate must take votes on this legislation and use the GOP’s response to eliminate the filibuster.
We urge Senate Democrats to be bold and bipartisan. Push Senate leadership to act now, with a simple majority and
Confirm President Biden’s nominees.
Hold votes to pass The For the People Act, The Washington D.C Admissions Act, The John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act.
Expand the federal courts to protect essential legislation from being overturned by politicized courts.
Congress must commit to making the promise of democracy a reality for everyone. Democrats must act now – bold and bipartisan.
