We the People Are Bipartisan
Jump to today’s actions:
Background
We the People have spoken. We stand together in support of President Biden's progressive agenda. We stand together for racial, economic, and environmental justice. We stand together for keeping our children and ourselves safe through reasonable gun regulation. We stand together for international negotiation instead of a rush to war. We stand together to save our democracy. Polls consistently demonstrate that a vast, bipartisan majority of Democrats, former Republicans, and Independents also supports our agenda.
Contrast bipartisanship among voters with congressional Republicans, who repeatedly refuse to engage in bipartisanship. Yes, congressional Republicans demand bipartisanship. In response, Democrats compromise, making legislation less of what the bipartisan majority of voters want and need. And then congressional Republicans vote against the resulting bills anyway. These same congressional Republicans represent a minority of voters, because gerrymandering and voter suppression bills passed since the 1965 VRA was gutted have allowed them to choose their voters.
We ask our Democratic leaders to work for the bipartisan majority of their voters. We ask them to ignore Republicans demanding bipartisanship while repeatedly refusing to engage in it. We ask our Democratic leaders to pass big, bold, anti-racist, pro-democracy legislation favored by the bipartisan majority of voters.
1. Call the Senate.

We the People stand in bipartisan support for big, bold, anti-racist, pro-democracy legislation, and we expect our leaders to represent us. We ask you to:
Stop weakening legislation we need in the name of compromise with Republicans, who then refuse to vote for the bills anyway. Insist Democratic leadership act now to create unity within the coalition and challenge those who appear to be more concerned with preserving the filibuster than preserving democracy.
