Pass Biden’s Infrastructure Plan

Background
Our democracy is in peril, but so is our economy. It’s important to be able to vote, but free and fair elections lose meaning in a society that suppresses workers’ pay, fails to support working families, and gives massive tax breaks to the rich.
The American Jobs Act, (Biden’s infrastructure bill) will close tax loopholes for the rich, build human infrastructure for working people such as child care, and repair capital infrastructure for everyone. But without ten Republican votes, Democrats will have to move to the reconciliation, which requires only 51 votes. But first we must go on a quest to write a bill that ten Republican Senators will support.
-- Manchin wants bipartisan support for the final bill.
-- Republicans willing to negotiate are absolutely opposed to tax increases, which means running up the deficit or drastically shrinking the bill.
-- McConnell has vowed to “fight [Democrats] every step of the way on Biden’s plan.
Once again, Republicans may be running out the clock with negotiations that go nowhere.
It’s always been up to the American people to push Congress to act. With Republicans substituting obstruction for governing, we need to push harder than ever.

I am calling to voice my support for passing all of President Biden’s infrastructure plan including his plan for raising the taxes needed to fund it. I do not support an increased gas tax proposed by the Problem Solvers Caucus. Wealthy people are already avoid paying their fair share. We need to reverse the Trump-era tax code.
