FRIDAY RECAP: April 29, 2022

Although Congress was still on Easter break, Indivisible Oregon continued to produce Daily Actions on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday on issues we, as progressives, care about deeply and about which we need our Members of Congress to act.

This week, our DAs focused on:

How Democrats must respond to GOP culture wars whose goal it is to divert our attention from the real problems we face and from the reality that only the Democrats have solutions to make our lives better.

How Democrats must quickly fill all judicial vacancies before the midterms with progressive nominees to blunt the ability of MAGA judges to further corrupt the federal legal system and destroy our government’s ability to function.

How the January 6th Committee’s evidence clearly demonstrates that Trump, his co-conspirators, and Trump Republicans in Congress committed a horrendous crime against our country by trying to steal the 2020 election and that all those who planned, promoted and paid for this crime must be held accountable.

All of these issues must be faced by Democrats as they prepare for the extremely important midterm elections, which will determine whether we can continue moving towards a government that works for all Americans, not just the rich and powerful. We must impress upon our Members of Congress the need to sharpen their message and regularly repeat it–outlining Democratic successes in understandable terms and clearly painting the massive differences between them and obstructionist Trump Republicans.

So, no matter how often you’ve called this week, commit to calling some more. And whatever the script, keep stressing the need to remind voters how Dems are working to improve our lives.

Here are the great topics from which to choose:
