The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is our principal federal health agency and the world’s largest. HHS administers Medicare, Medicaid, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and plays an essential role in safeguarding public health, guiding the country through health crises, and advancing crucial health research. It demands a leader grounded in science, prioritizing evidence-based policies, and upholding the public’s trust.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a politician with no scientific background and no experience running large agencies, has none of these qualities. He’s a notorious promoter of conspiracy theories and misinformation, has opposed life-saving vaccinations, and has widely promoted unproven and dangerous “health” products. He’s also threatened to gut staffing of essential entities like the FDA and NIH.
Thousands of doctors and the American Public Health Association (APHA) have opposed Kennedy’s nomination, recognizing the significant threat he poses to public health here and abroad, as has his niece, Carolyn Kennedy.
Vaccine skepticism and other anti-science conspiracy theories are deadly. As HHS Secretary, Kennedy would do untold damage to our health care and public health infrastructure, to the detriment of millions of Americans
Any senator voting for him will be complicit in the harm he will cause to public health and the lives of America’s children.

I'm calling to urge you to oppose the nomination of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for Secretary of Health and Human Services. Kennedy has no scientific background and has promoted dangerous lies about vaccine and drug safety. He is a direct threat to public health and has no business running the world's largest public health agency. Please convince your colleagues on the Finance and HELP Committees to use these opportunities to explain to the American people how dangerous Kennedy is to the health and wellbeing to them and their children and remind them that any Senator voting for him will be complicit in the harms he will cause.

Kennedy Jr. for Secretary of Health and Human Services and do everything in your power as a member of the Finance Committee to ensure that he is not voted out. Please use your allotted questioning time to demonstrate to the American people that Kennedy has no scientific background, has promoted dangerous lies about vaccine and drug safety, is a direct threat to public health, and is completely unqualified to run the world's largest public health agency and explain to them how dangerous his appointment would be. I am also asking that you convince your colleagues on the HELP Committee to do likewise and that you advise Senators on both committees that, were they to vote for him, they’d be complicit in the harms he will cause.
