ELECTIONS HAVE CONSEQUENCES
The Supreme Court’s assault on our rights continues; we must rein it in.
QUICK READ: After decades of legislative maneuvering, MAGA Republicans now have firm control over SCOTUS and much of the lower federal judiciary. Their appointees, largely nominated by minority Presidents and confirmed by minority-controlled Senates, are continuing their assault on our rights and institutions. By the end of June, women will likely lose their reproductive freedom, guns on the streets will become the norm, the EPA’s ability to regulate greenhouse gas emissions will be restricted, religious groups will get greater access to taxpayer dollars and greater protection from government regulations. Elections have consequences.
TAKE ACTION NOW:
BACKGROUND
In the next several weeks SCOTUS will release decisions that may radically change America, but the MAGA Republican super-majority has already taken steps to return America to the 1950’s, when white Christians were in the majority and the government worked only for them.
During this term, it overturned settled law it disliked, overruled executive and legislative behavior it disfavors, and misused the “shadow docket,” meant only for emergencies, to impose its personal preferences on us all. Without discussion or explanation, it effectively gutted voting rights, the government’s ability to address threats to health and safety, and reproductive freedom, green-lit prison executions, and ensured religious freedom’s pre-eminence.
Within the next few weeks, we’ll have lost reproductive freedom, control over guns in our streets, and the ability to regulate greenhouse gas emissions. Taxpayers will be funding religious schools, prayer in public schools will be permitted, and Trump’s inhumane “remain in Mexico” policy may still exist.
Unless we act, SCOTUS will continue spewing out unpopular decisions limiting our rights, undermining our government’s ability to protect us and the environment, and further disenfranchising us.
We need leaders committed to passing meaningful gun reforms, protecting reproductive freedom and one-person-one-vote, and to rebalancing SCOTUS.
Elections have consequences.
ACTION One: Call the Senate.

My name is [--] and I'm a constituent from [city], Oregon [zip code].
The Supreme Court’s 6-3 ultraconservative majority is working hard to return America to the 1950’s when the government worked only for white Christians. The only way to rein in these runaway MAGA justices is by passing legislation that’s been killed by GOP Senators and by rebalancing the Supreme Court. Please use your bully pulpit to educate both American voters about the need to vote in November and your colleagues about the need for the Judiciary Act (S.1141) to counteract previous GOP court-packing.

Thanks to the Supreme Court justices pushed by your party, by the end of June, women will likely lose their reproductive freedom, guns on the streets will become the norm, and the government will lose much of its power to reverse the climate crises. Most of your constituents are very opposed to these outcomes. It is time to speak out on their behalf and work to rein in this runaway Court.
ACTION TWO: Call the House.
