THE SUPREME COURT’S CHRISTIAN NATIONALIST CAMPAIGN
THE MAGA supermajority is intent on transforming America into a theocracy by removing privacy rights from the Constitution, making the religious a privileged class, and dismantling the separation of church and state.
QUICK READ: Although America is not, nor has it ever been a Christian nation, one of the main goals of the Supreme Court’s MAGA supermajority is to create a theocracy here. This means imposing white evangelical views on all of us, even though the First Amendment explicitly prevents this and the majority of Americans disagree with these rulings. Between now and November, Democrats must fight—through actions, not words—to reverse this unrelenting attack on our religious freedoms by reasserting Congress’s power to restructure the Supreme Court and regulate its jurisdiction.
TAKE ACTION NOW:
BACKGROUND
America’s not a Christian nation—thanks to the First Amendment, which both protects the free exercise of religion and precludes establishment of any religion.
Nevertheless, SCOTUS’ MAGA supermajority continues imposing Christian nationalism on us all:
Kennedy (allowing football coach to lead prayer on 50-yard line) and Carson (forcing states to use public funds to cover Christian schools’ tuition) dismantled church-state separation
Dodd not only imposed its fundamentalist Christian belief about when life begins but invested fetuses with a divine right to subjugate the girls and women carrying them
These rulings are the culmination of a minority’s decades-long push to tranform America into a Christian theocracy:
Removing privacy rights from the Constitution
Constructing a legal system where the religious are a privileged class unaccountable to the rule of law
Dismantling the separation of church and state
Americans don’t want these unelected judges dictating our lives. We want to live and prosper in a pluralistic society that protects all our rights and freedoms, which will only occur if Congress reasserts its power to restructure SCOTUS and regulate and limit its jurisdiction.
Between now and November, Democrats must fight—through actions, not words—to reverse this unrelenting attack on our religious freedoms.
ACTION One: Call the Senate.

SEN. MERKLEY: Portland office: 503-326-3386 | D.C. office: 202-224-3753
My name is [--] and I'm a constituent from [city], Oregon [zip code].
Having sworn an oath to the Constitution, it’s your duty under Article 3, Section 2, to check the Court’s perversion of the First Amendment’s Free Exercise and Establishment Clauses—another gross overreach of power. I urge you to lead the fight to convince Congress to develop legislation that restructures SCOTUS and regulates and limits its appellate jurisdiction, such that it works toward expanding, not contracting, the rights and freedoms all Americans deserve.
