BIDEN’S BUILD BACK BETTER AGENDA IS A CLIMATE MILESTONE

The fossil fuel industry is in a frenzy, trying to use their paid-for politicians to eviscerate this very significant legislation.

QUICK READ: The Build Back Better (BBB) bill is a roadmap for the kind of bold and broad climate action that is long overdue. And it’s on the threshold of passing. Panicked, the fossil fuel industry, which thrives on billions in government subsidies, has its paid-for politicians fighting to eviscerate it, although the legislation is supported by the vast majority of the American people.

TAKE ACTION NOW:

BACKGROUND

We stand on the brink of America’s biggest climate action.

Because of Progressives’ determination, Build Back Better (BBB) is the most significant climate legislation ever to come within a handful of votes in Congress.

That’s not lost on the GOP and oil-soaked Dems. An industry that lives off billions in government subsidies has demanded protection from its paid-for politicians.

They have whittled down the climate components of BBB. What remains still leaves the industry in a rabid frenzy.

Perhaps this moment is even bigger than global climate change. That’s because BBB fundamentally redirects government.

The legislation targets not just oil companies, but also billionaires and drug companies, diverting a tiny portion of their wealth to strengthen America’s human infrastructure.

But with half the country drunk on MAGA lies, with the dysfunctional Senate evenly split, with Republicans refusing to govern while stoking cultural division, with armed insurrectionists threatening school boards, and so much more,  progressives have successfully shaken the government’s foundation and orientation.

When the dust settles, we will see which corporate Democrats will fight for industry and who will fight just as hard for us.

We won’t get everything we want in BBB, but this would be a great start.
