PASS BUILD BACK BETTER ASAP

The newest BBB iteration will make historic investments in working families, our communities, and in combating the climate disaster.

QUICK READ: Despite uniform GOP obstruction, Democrats have devised pro-family, politically popular legislation. Now they must pass Build Back Better as soon as possible to show Americans Democrats deliver on their promises.

TAKE ACTION NOW:

BACKGROUND

On Thursday, President Biden assured House Democrats his newest iteration of Build Back Better (BBB) would be supported by all Senate Democrats.

This legislation will make historic investments in working families, our communities, and our country

·      reducing poverty, particularly among children

·      expanding affordable health coverage

·      reducing housing instability and homelessness

·      helping children get a good start

·      improving access to higher education

·      expanding home care for aging and people with disabilities

·      mitigating climate disasters

·      helping some undocumented immigrants become permanent residents

It’s fully funded by taxing the wealthy and corporations and collecting taxes they actually owe.

Despite uniform GOP obstruction, Democrats have devised pro-family, politically popular legislation that would be the greatest investment in working people in generations

While including prescription drug negotiation, some paid family leave, and taxing billionaires’ assets would improve BBB, as written, the bill is just a down payment on the future

Requiring a Senate vote on BBB before the House passes either it or the bi-partisan infrastructure bill is imperative, given Sen. Manchin’s refusal yesterday to back it without a detailed analysis of its impacts.

Our MoCs must stand firm and push for immediate passage of this transformative package.
