Background

In 2020, Americans overwhelmingly chose Biden as President and placed Congress in Democratic hands--so we could enshrine a federally established right to vote and pass widely popular progressive legislation.

Trump responded by inciting an insurrection to overturn the people’s will.

Despite 400+ arrests, the “Big Lie” stokes the continuing insurrection:

Most of the 25% of voters self-identifying as Republicans falsely believe Trump won the election and will soon be reinstated.
Flynn, among others, calls for a military coup.
GOP legislatures use it to justify voter suppression and voter nullification laws to ensure GOP wins in 2022 and 2024.
GOP senators will filibuster S.1, which would prevent their enforcement, and other progressive House-passed bills, as they did with the January 6 commission.

We cannot allow the Senate minority to stymie the search for the truth or fundamental democracy reforms. Unless Senators choose democracy over the racist filibuster, the insurrection will continue and democracy will die.

We must convince our MoCs to push for:

A commission to investigate its causes and protect us from its repetition
S.1 and the John Lewis Voting Rights Act to nullify these pernicious state laws
Filibuster reform or elimination--the only way their passage is possible.
