RAISE TAXES AND BUILD HUMAN INFRASTRUCTURE
Jump to today’s actions:
Background
Biden will address Congress tomorrow at 6 p.m. PT/9 p.m. ET. He will present an ambitious plan, the American Families Plan, to expand human infrastructure. If he succeeds, Americas will enjoy services that other developed nations have had for generations:
universal prekindergarten,
expanded subsidies for child care,
a national paid leave program for workers,
free community college tuition for all.
The plan will cost billions, atop the $2.3T for the jobs/infrastructure plan and the price tag for improving health care. Yet the costs of not investing in human and physical infrastructure have been staggering.
The solution is clear: we need new taxes. Biden has a plan, beginning with raising taxes on corporations and the super-wealthy.
Negotiations have begun between the two parties and the White House. Oregonians are key constituents since Senator Wyden chairs the Senate’s tax-writing committee. We must weigh in early, repeatedly, and forcefully as this debate unfolds.
Call our leaders. Tell them Biden is proposing the basic infrastructure that you want to see, and that you support raising taxes on the wealthy to do the job.
1. Call the Senate.

I fully support Biden’s plans to build human infrastructure, so we can have services that other countries have enjoyed for generations. I support higher taxes on corporations and the wealthy, and am glad to see that you agree. We have so much infrastructure building and repair to accomplish. We need to increase taxes to pay for it. Thank you.

I fully support Biden’s plan to expand our human infrastructure. This is the real business of government, not funneling more and more money at corporations and the people who are already wealthy. Let go of the debunked theory of trickle down economics and support a tax code that requires corporations and the super-wealthy to pay their fair share. Thank you.
2. Call the House.

I fully support Biden’s plans to build human infrastructure, so we can have services that other countries have enjoyed for generations. I also support raising taxes to pay for it, especially taxes on corporations and the wealthy. We have been robbed for years to give even more money to the wealthiest among us. It needs to stop. Thank you.
