BIDEN’S BIG PLANS COST BIG MONEY, AND THEY’RE WORTH IT

Background
President Biden is tackling America’s biggest and most intractable problems.
His plans will cost trillions. To pay for them, Biden proposes taxing the
mega-wealthy and corporations. These tax-avoiding “people” have been choking public investments for decades.
Fortunately, Biden’s plans come with multilayered benefits.
His Covid plan, for example, has not only led to vaccinating more than half the US population with at least one dose. But schools are reopening, small businesses are reviving, money has arrived for the unemployed, and a 38% decline in Black poverty including millions of kids.
Biden’s infrastructure plan would boost economic opportunities for women, right racial wrongs, rebuild rural communities, and mitigate global warming’s impact on the poor. That’s in addition to injecting trillions into an anemic economy with far reaching economic benefits.
Biden’s budget, released last month, reflects the value he places on science, education, the environment, and racial justice. This week, he’ll cement those values when he reveals his “families plan,” that will add another trillion dollars.
Republicans, who loathe rattling the rich, will resist. But if Biden’s vision is the future we want, we have to pay for it. Call your MOC and tell them you support tax increases, even your own.

I support President Biden’s plans, even though they cost trillions. I want a better future for our country and our children. And I realize we must pay for it. So I want to tell you I support raising taxes, on the wealthy and corporations, and even on myself because we must all share the cost of making America better.
