IF THE ELECTION IS PROTECTED, WE CAN VOTE FOR EQUALITY AND FAIRNESS

Background

November 3rd we can make a choice to change the direction of our country and improve the lives of ourselves and millions of our friends, families, and neighbors.

We can choose to turn away from a president and vice-president intent on pushing an agenda that is racist, anti-women, anti-LGBTQ, and anti-worker.

We can choose Biden and Harris, who may be the most pro-equality ticket in our history. They and our representatives in Congress can pass legislation that will ensure the rights and protections of all of us.

Joe Biden supports both the Equality Act and the Paycheck Fairness Act which are co-sponsored by Senator Harris.  Both are being blocked by Mitch McConnell.

The Equality Act ensures access to vital needs like medical care, housing, education, and employment regardless of sexual orientation or gender identification.

For every dollar that men are paid, women are paid 82 cents.  Black women are paid 64 cents and Latinas 56 cents.  The Paycheck Fairness Act addresses the misogyny and systemic racism of the wage gap.

Imagine seeing these bills passed by a new majority Democrat Senate and signed by President Biden.  Imagine beginning to see again that government can be a force for good.

How you can help

1. Call the Senate.

We need Congress to work to repair the damage done by the racist, anti-women, and anti-LGBTQ agenda of the past four years. It’s time to pass legislation that will ensure the rights and protections of all of us. I want to thank the Senator for introducing the Equality Act in the Senate and co-sponsoring the Paycheck Fairness Act. We need a free and fair election to get them passed and signed. I am asking him to protect the USPS in order to safeguard mail-in ballots and to fight to secure the election against all forms of interference and voter suppression.

While I want to thank the Representative for voting for the Equality Act in the House, I am disappointed that he voted against the Paycheck Fairness Act. He must finally put country above party. He must support fair elections so that both Acts can be voted on and passed in the Senate and signed. I am asking him to protect the USPS in order to safeguard mail-in ballots and to fight to secure the election against all forms of interference and voter suppression.
