***IMMEDIATE ACTION*** THE SENATE CANNOT ADJOURN UNTIL IT FINISHES ITS WORK
QUICK READ: Although Friday is the final scheduled day for this Congress, the Senate still has much to accomplish for the American people before MAGA Republicans take over.
Senator Wyden’s PRESS Act (S. 2074), which passed the House unanimously, shields reporters from being forced to reveal sources or surrender private communications and will prevent Trump’s war on the press from escalating unchecked.
The Social Security Fairness Act (S.597), which passed the House 327-75, prevents the government from withholding from 2.8 million public-service workers—firefighters, park rangers, postal workers, and educators—Social Security benefits earned in non-public-sector employment.
The Senate must also try again to reappoint Lauren McFerran to the NLRB, reappoint Lina Khan to the FTC and Caroline Crenshaw to the SEC, and protect the FDIC from Trump’s wrecking ball.
Finally, there must be votes on Biden’s 4 pending appellate court nominees.
Call your Senators and impress upon them that they must stay in Washington to accomplish them all before the Senate adjourns.
