Trump’s Sexual Predator Nominees Are Part of MAGA’s Escalating War on Women

BACKGROUND

Among the incompetent, unqualified, and dangerous sycophants nominated by Trump for senior administrative positions, there is a notable and deeply disturbing pattern of tapping sexual predators.

While accused pedophile, Matt Gaetz, withdrew from consideration for Attorney General mere minutes before CNN publicized yet another under-aged sexual encounter, no admission of guilt accompanied his abrupt exit.

Accused sexual predator, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., is Trump’s nomination for HHS. Eliza Cooney, who worked for him as a babysitter in 1998 when she was 23, claimed he made unwelcome advances, including touching her hips, rib cage, and breasts. While Kennedy denies memory of the incident, he offered a public non-apology to Clooney: “If I hurt you, it was inadvertent.”

Fox News pundit, insurrectionist, misogynist, and accused sexual predator, Pete Hegseth, is Trump’s nominee for Defense Secretary. Hegseth allegedly drugged, falsely imprisoned, and sexually assaulted an unnamed woman in 2017 at a California political event. The victim reported the incident to police and did a rape kit within days of the attack. According to the police report, the incident immediately followed Hegseth’s sexual assaults of multiple women at a bar at which the victim was drugged. No charges were filed after a confidential monetary settlement was reached.

To expose their true colors, Senate Democrats must immediately order FBI background checks on these and all Trump’s other nominees and hold hearings on their fitness to serve.
