QUICK READ:   Republicans do not love America. They attack our core principles while calling themselves freedom-loving patriots. We should attack their phony claims and call out their hypocrisy. We defend the rule of law, democracy, and free elections. Not them.

 


CONTENTS:

BACKGROUND

Republicans say they “love America.” They don’t. 

They are fine with attempts to violently overturn free elections.

They attack core American principles like free speech, freedom of assembly, the separation of church and state, and the right to fundamental equality when banning books, restricting teachers, creating anti-protest legislation, weighting the church over the state, attacking reproductive freedom, and torpedoing affirmative action.

They don’t like the military either, having recently proposed a $30 billion cut from veteran spending.

Where most Americans want to raise the minimum wage, reduce student debt, grant paid family leave, and reform gun laws, Republicans oppose.

They don’t like American farmers either, refusing to expand Medicaid, cutting food stamps, and favoring Big Ag, all of which hurts rural people most.

They call American cities “crime infested rat holes” and care little for our ecosystem, having rolled back scores of environmental regulations while pushing for more fossil fuel drilling in culturally significant spaces. 

Democrats must stop letting Republicans claim to be freedom-loving patriots. Freedom means health care, unions, and speech. It means reproductive choices. Marriage choices. It is freedom from gun violence and debt. It is free elections and national loyalty over party loyalty and greed.

Words matter.
