Mother Nature is Screaming at Us, but we are Tone Deaf
QUICK READ: The world is facing an unprecedented global environmental crisis, but MAGA Republican policies and, sometimes, even those of the Biden administration are exacerbating the crisis.

BACKGROUND
The man-made climate crisis is moving into uncharted waters. Last week, more than eighty million Americans were enduring a blistering heat wave with temperatures of 105-degrees, which extended throughout much of Europe and Asia too. July was the hottest month in recorded history.
People and the natural environment are experiencing the devastating effects of climate change with increasing frequency. Countries have been deluged with rain; suffered from an unprecedented number of hurricanes, tornadoes, and forest fires; experienced acute droughts and rising ocean waters coming from rapidly melting ice. Scientists expect us soon to surpass temperature rises over 1.5 Celsius, from which there may be no return.
Climate changes effects our daily lives in less obvious ways as well—from global politics to the flow of millions of environmental migrants.
As the planet bakes, MAGA Republicans are pushing disastrous environmental legislation which would decimate the EPA’s budget and those of related Federal Agencies. They also want to gut climate portions of the Inflation Reduction Act ,including $7.8 million to reduce greenhouse gases.
To make matters worse, Biden’s refusing to end oil and gas extraction on public lands.
We must heed nature’s message before it is too late.
