LOCK HIM UP
Trump must be tried for his role in the insurrection
QUICK READ: Although the Attorney General has pledged to pursue every person involved in the January 6 insurrection, “at any level,” the Department of Justice shows no sign of conducting an investigation into Trump’s role. But the January 6 Committee and a federal judge have collected and assessed the evidence, and they are pushing DOJ to move. We must add our voice.
TAKE ACTION NOW:
BACKGROUND
We must push Attorney General Merrick Garland to hold Trump accountable for the deaths and destruction at the Capitol on Jan. 6 and, more importantly, for the treasonous conspiracy to destroy American democracy.
“Attorney General Garland, do your job…” said one frustrated member of the Jan. 6 Committee. Even President Biden has said (privately) that he wanted Garland to take decisive action.
Although the Justice Department shows no sign of investigating Trump for instigating the insurrection, events keep strengthening a potential criminal indictment.
U.S. Rep. Mo Brooks of Alabama revealed that Trump had asked him to “rescind the election,” remove Biden, reinstall Trump, and hold a “new special election for the presidency.” Trump continued pressing Brooks until September 2021.
The Jan. 6 Committee revealed its findings in court against a former DOJ lawyer who planned the legal framework for overturning the election. Shockingly, the federal judge ruled that Trump “more likely than not” committed crimes, pressing what he called an attempted “coup.”
The Committee heard hours of voluntary testimony from Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner in the past week. This could signal a turning point in the Committee’s work.
No one is above the law. DOJ must defend our democracy.

As Trump continues to lie about the “stolen” election, America needs to have its faith restored in justice and the integrity of our elections. And, that begins by holding Trump accountable for his role in the deadly insurrection at the Capitol on January 6, which was a coup that would have destroyed our democracy. Please push AG Garland to bring charges against Trump.
