THE FASCIST REPUBLICAN CAMPAIGN OF INTIMIDATION IS WORKING
From school board battles over BLM signs in Newburg, Oregon, to the bodies in the streets of Kenosha, Wisconsin, bullying, death threats, and murder are the latest attacks on democracy.
QUICK READ: Millions of Americans at war with democracy have effectively replaced uncomfortable truths with the pleasures of hate. Inflamed by the lies of officials, the fascists, in their “fight for freedom,” are attacking shoppers, airline workers, “Antifa,” all kinds of local officials, and any imaginary opponent. Intimidated local officials fleeing their offices will be replaced by fascist Republicans, and the destruction of democracy will be complete.
TAKE ACTION NOW:
BACKGROUND
These are not normal times. But as uncomfortable as it is to look at what’s happening to America, looking away is not an option.
Lies fanning fears (of vaccines, of Black people, of stolen elections, etc.) have worked well for Republicans, but the cost is unnecessary Covid deaths and dangerous polarization. Still, even as the GOP uses fear to dismantle our election, health, and educational systems, a slim majority of Americans continues to believe in facts.
So, to plunge their war on democracy deeper, American fascists are dialing up their extreme actions:
Republicans are using violent threats to quash dissent and terrify election workers.
Republican leaders are not tamping down, but inflaming calls for violence.
School board members fear for their lives, and weapons are brandished to intimidate city council members.
If faithful public servants abandon their positions to fascists, what does the future hold?
The anti-education war is already expanding into libraries, with the GOP demanding that books be burned.
A Republican running for Senate in Ohio warns voters that his opponent is Jewish, and Trump official Michael Flynn calls for one national religion.
Sound familiar? Experts warn that the attacks on democracy are a risk to national security.
Get involved.
