WE CAN DEMAND LEADERS WHO CARE ABOUT OUR WELL-BEING

caely.barrett@gmail.com

Background

We need a country in which the health and well-being of every American is important.

We demand leadership that has more regard for human life than for political advantage.

Joe Biden and Kamala Harris will provide that leadership. They will:

  • Pass pandemic relief rather than pushing to ideologically stack the Supreme Court.

  • Restore faith in our public health institutions by protecting them from political manipulation.

  • Ensure that scientists and health professionals, not political hacks, are making vital public health decisions.

  • Protect the ACA and ensure affordable health care for all Americans.

  • Remove the chaos and racism from our health care system.

  • Protect a woman’s right to choose and have access to reproductive health care.

“Someday there will be great people, great elected representatives who will say, ‘enough of this nonsense, let’s be the kind of legislature the United States should have.' I hope that day will come when I’m still alive." - Justice Ginsburg, 2017

We honor RBG’s memory by making this happen now.  We demand that our MoCs work for a Supreme Court that represents all of us – not just Trump and his GOP.

And we must get out the vote for Joe, Kamala, and Democrats across the board. "My most fervent wish is that I will not be replaced until a new president is installed.”

1. Call the Senate.

Script for Sen. Merkley

Portland office: 503-326-3386 | D.C. office: 202-224-3753

My name is [–] and I’m a constituent from [city], Oregon [zip code]. We cannot live under a 6-3 right wing majority court and therefore there can be no Supreme Court nomination until the inauguration. I know Senator Merkley supports this. I ask him now to use all the tools available to make this happen in the Senate. •objecting to unanimous consent •forcing 51 Republicans to show up for quorum •boycott the hearing should they happen - as they are a farce in McConnell’s Senate •hold regular press conferences to explain the above I am also asking him to demand that there be no continuing resolution until the HEROES Act is passed.

Script for Sen. Wyden

Portland office: 503-326-7525 | D.C. office: 202-224-5244

My name is [–] and I’m a constituent from [city], Oregon [zip code]. Senator Wyden said, “If you don't trust Republicans with your health care, you shouldn't trust them with the Supreme Court seat.” I am asking the Senator to use all the tools available to stop Mitch McConnell from hijacking the Supreme Court.

2. Call the House.

Oregon office: 503-469-6010 | DC office: 202-225-0855

My name is [–] and I’m a constituent from [city], Oregon [zip code]. We cannot live under a 6-3 right wing majority court and therefore there can be no Supreme Court nomination until the inauguration. I know that the Representative supports this. I am asking him/her to support all efforts to stop Mitch McConnell from hypocritically hijacking yet another Supreme Court seat, including calling for the impeachment of Donald Trump.

Script for Greg Walden (OR-02)

Medford office: 541-776-4646 | DC office: 202-225-6730

My name is [–] and I’m a constituent from [city], Oregon [zip code]. I am asking the Representative to finally put country above party. He must call on his Republican colleagues to stop Mitch McConnell from permanently damaging the integrity of the Senate by hypocritically hijacking yet another Supreme Court seat. If they refuse to stop this raw push for power by Donald Trump, he must support any call by the House for the president’s impeachment.

Script for Earl Blumenauer (OR-03)

Oregon office: 503-231-2300 | DC office: 202-225-4811

My name is [–] and I’m a constituent from [city], Oregon [zip code]. We cannot live under a 6-3 right wing majority court and therefore there can be no Supreme Court nomination until the inauguration. I know that the Representative supports this. I am asking him/her to support all efforts to stop Mitch McConnell from hypocritically hijacking yet another Supreme Court seat, including calling for the impeachment of Donald Trump.

Script for Peter DeFazio (OR-04)

Eugene office: 541-465-6732 | DC office: 202-225-6416

My name is [–] and I’m a constituent from [city], Oregon [zip code]. We cannot live under a 6-3 right wing majority court and therefore there can be no Supreme Court nomination until the inauguration. I know that the Representative supports this. I am asking him/her to support all efforts to stop Mitch McConnell from hypocritically hijacking yet another Supreme Court seat, including calling for the impeachment of Donald Trump.

Script for Kurt Schrader (OR-05)

Salem office: 503-588-9100 | DC office: 202-225-5711

My name is [–] and I’m a constituent from [city], Oregon [zip code].
