CONSTITUTIONAL SCHOLAR IS “SCARED S***LESS!!”
Jump to today’s scripts:
BACKGROUND
A minority of Americans are on the brink of dismantling democracy. These people are rabidly anti-democracy.
Their tactics are well-known and well-financed. Undermine truth. Ignore the rule of law. Embrace paramilitaries. Rig elections.
Their most destructive weapon: inflame racism.
Their goal is to end majority rule. They say that they have been denied the benefits of traditional American life, that immigrants displaced them, that Muslims, feminists, and members of the LGBTQ+ community made liberal Democrats the majority and usurped their privileges. They want to end the will of the majority.
Their final step is rigging elections. So far this year, 18 states have done so with 30 new laws, and more are coming. By suppressing the vote, gerrymandering, and capturing and controlling election infrastructure, including vote counting, the minority will dictate election results.
How serious is this? A UC Irvine law school professor told CNN he is “scared s***less” because the outcome of the next elections may not represent the majority’s will. That is the death of democracy.
Senators can stop this election rigging by passing the protections included in S1, the For the People Act.
But the GOP filibustered it.

3. Take Action
To preserve our freedom to vote, Congress must hear from constituents across the country. Please email/text this action to 5 friends in other states – especially those in red states – and ask them to call today. Then, contact your state representatives and tell them to go to DC to support the Texas legislators who fled the state to stop voter suppression.
