AMERICA MUST BE FREE TO VOTE. THE SENATE MUST PASS THE FOR THE PEOPLE ACT
Jump to today’s actions:
Background
No matter what we look like or where we live - we must be free to pick our leaders. We voted in record numbers and chose leaders who care for us - delivering historic pandemic relief: putting money in our pockets, vaccines in our arms, and cutting child poverty in half.
The GOP saw this and instead of pivoting to work with us, they block policies that will help America. They attempt to silence our voices, making it harder for some of us to vote - based on what we look like or where we live.
The For the People Act protects our freedom to vote - making sure we have accessible voting options across the country, keeping billionaires from buying our elections, and helping us elect leaders who care for us by having independent commissions draw our voting districts. The John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act strengthens our freedom to vote - any change to voting rules that discriminates based on race or background must be reviewed.
We must act now. The Senate must hold a vote on the For the People Act. Congress must pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act. Together we will make the promise of democracy real for us all.
